DOMESTIC VIOLENCE OUTREACH WORKER
The Inchicore Domestic Violence Outreach Centre is a Community
Development, grassroots response to the need’s women experiencing
emotional, physical, sexual and financial abuse. It is a core service
of the St. Michaels Estate Family Resource Centre Community
Development Project.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of the Domestic Violence Outreach Worker is to support women
and children who are affected by violence in Inchicore and surrounding
areas. The Domestic Violence Outreach Worker will work on an
individual basis with women who are experiencing physical, emotional,
sexual or financial abuse. The service is totally confidential.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
* To provide women and children experiencing violence and abuse with
a safe, confidential and respectful space to disclose their problems
* To provide women with information and options regarding their
safety, legal, housing, financial and maintenance issues
* To refer clients to other agencies where appropriate
* To provide a court and solicitor accompaniment service
* To prepare women for court
* To liaise with statutory and voluntary agencies in the community
with the responsibility in relation to the Outreach Service
* To inform, educate and offer an analysis at an inter-agency &
community level
* To keep detailed records of numbers attending and making contact
through other means with the service
* To be responsible for all administrative tasks related to the work

training when required
